Two words: "zombie apocalypse." If you're not already as anxious to see World War Z as the walking dead at a brain buffet, you should know that the summer's next blockbuster owes as much to Contagion as it does to 28 Days Later. That's right: a thinking person's zombie flick. Or as IMDB describes it:
"United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Brad Pitt) traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments, and threatening to destroy humanity itself."
Join us at the St. Anthony Main Theater on the Minneapolis riverfront this Saturday for an apocalyptic good time. The movie starts at 1:05 p.m., so we'll congregate in the lobby starting at 12:30 and take our seats by 12:50. You can usually find free street parking if you're willing to walk a couple of blocks--look for meters that aren't enforced on weekends. Here's the website:
Afterwards those of us who have worked up an appetite will head over to Rusty Taco (522 East Hennepin Avenue), just a short shamble away. We should be there by 3:15 or so. The menu looks inviting despite the absence of sweetbreads:
Hope we can lure you there!
