De-baptism and Dinner Celebration - 4:00pm at Al Baker's Restaurant in Eagan, MN

Join us for our first ever De-baptism and Dinner event! This deliciously blasphemous event will be held in the banquet room at Al Baker's restaurant in Eagan, MN (off Yankee Doodle and 35E) at 4:00pm. Participants who get de-baptized will receive a pleasant burst of warm air under the Hair Dryer of Reason which will symbolically dry off erstwhile baptismal water. Participants will also receive a certificate recognizing their renunciation of their past baptism. If you have no baptism to renounce you can still fully participate to confirm your rejection of religious faith and archaic fairy tales for an acceptance of reason. Enjoy cocktails during the ceremony and partake in a godless communion, from Al Baker's menu, with your freethinking brethren (and sistren) afterward.

Thanks to Richard for all the great photos. We are very lucky to have such a talented photographer in our group.

Thank you all for your enthusiastic participation and welcoming spirit! It made the ceremony so much fun to perform. I really enjoyed seeing several familiar heathens and meeting other heathens for the first time. It was a wonderful evening of positive atheism! Also, thanks to Richard and Carl for taking pictures!

Good point, James. I did factor the guests that attendees who RSVPed "Yes" and "Maybe" are bringing with them but I would have a more accurate count if those who RSVPed "Maybe" could firm up a "Yes" or "No". If the numbers drastically increase by Saturday afternoon, I should be able to order more in time.

Sounds great Eric. I'm looking forward to it. Looks like a number of attendees (myself included) have noted that they are coming with others, too. Hope you remembered to include those in the order.

I designed the Debaptism certificate earlier this week and just got them back from the printer yesterday. They look pretty good, if I do say so myself. I based the print order on the "Yes" and "Maybe" RSVP's, so everyone who attends should receive a specially designed certificate to remember the evening! I will send everyone who RSVPed "Yes" and "Maybe" my cell phone number in case you're having trouble finding the restaurant. Please make sure you Google Map, or Mapquest your route!

If you're participating in the "Adopt-a-Highway Cleaup" event in Lakeville, you can cap your afternoon at the Minnesota Atheists first ever "De-baptism" event at Al Baker's in Eagan, which begins at 4pm. It's less than a 15 minute drive from Lakeville. If you're coming from Lakeville, you need to take I-35 north (merge onto 35E) and get off at Pilot Knob Rd. Take a left at Yankee Doodle Rd. Then another left on Washington Dr. and voilà, you're there!
