Webinar presentation about Sunday Assembly, Sat., Jan. 11, 10:30 a.m., Mpls

Don’t believe in god, do believe in good? Then Sunday Assembly might be of interest to you.

You may have heard about Sunday Assembly from a recent article in the StarTribune. If not, here's a link to a recent Chicago Tribune story about this "godless congregation":

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/religion/ct-met-godless-congregation-20131107,0,1316628.story

If you're interested in this idea, please join us for a webinar hosted by the founders, British comedians Sanderson Jones and Pippa Evans and musician Mark Hatcher. It's for people interested in hearing about how other cities have organized an Assembly and discussing next steps as well as input from webinar participants. Afterwards we'll discuss where we might want to go with the idea.

SOME BACKGROUND

Sunday Assembly is a growing network of people who want to make the most of this one life we know we have. They describe themselves as a godless congregation that celebrates life. Their motto is "Live Better, Help Often, Wonder More."

A brief description of Sunday Assembly:

• Free to attend, not-for-profit and volunteer-run

• No doctrine and no deity

• Independent and inclusive

• A celebration of the one life we know we have

For more information, here's the Sunday Assembly website:

http://sundayassembly.com/about/

With over 40 Assemblies around the world already, the founders are reaching out to communities that want to create their own Assembly.

We hope you can join us to learn more about this growing godless movement!

There is turning out to be enough interest in this idea that I decided to create a meetup group for it. You can check it out at: http://www.meetup.com/Sunday-Assembly-MSP/
