Bowling for Deities at Memory Lanes, Mpls

No RSVP limit, but if you show up late you may not be able to bowl with the group if our lanes are filled and an adjacent one is not available.

It's now official: our bowling Meetup has found the right hook, strikes the right note, and spares no puns. Judging by the great time everyone has whenever we do it, Bowling for Deities is a MNA Meetup favorite. Each bowler chooses the god or goddess of his or her choice, appeals to said imaginary being, and finds out whether their particular deity rewards them with the best score. You can be any god or goddess you like, but must be specific ("god" is just too vague).

Our venue is Memory Lanes, a fun and funky bowling haven in the heart of Minneapolis. Assuming their third-game-for-a-dollar special is still going on, we'll plan on getting three games in before retiring to the fabulous Flashback Cafe and Cocktail Lounge for a late lunch. Cost is $5 per game, $3 for shoe rental. For more bowling info:

Check out the menu at the Flashback Cafe here:

My gallant run at Jack's record game was only made memorable by a pathetic (while common) nosedive near the end. Just another example of what happens when you want something too much. 200 remains the Bowling for Deities high game. Thanks again Jack for another great meet up. Average bowling, good beer and great friends. Thanks everyone.

The mighty Wi reigned supreme and Hanuman offered up a new high. Great to see everyone!

I'll be late, as I'm doing the blood donation/lunch with another group 1st.

You think it's okay to bowl after donating blood?

I and others have done it before. I always have them use my left arm and I'm right-handed, so works ok. Probably good that I'll only be there for game 2 and 3 likely.
