Last month the Church of Scientology opened a brand new, modern, fancy 82,000 square foot building next door to the Fitzgerald Theater in downtown St. Paul. The building houses museum-like galleries, a vast library, and a chapel that used to be where the IMAX theater was in the old Science Museum.
If you're curious about Scientology and their new church but uncomfortable in going in alone, you're in luck! We have a great opportunity to go into the belly of the beast as a godless group.
The Minnesota Atheists have been invited to tour the church with a local Scientologist who will serve as our guide through the building and who will demonstrate how an E-meter works, and take questions. The tour should last about an hour to an hour and a half.
Afterward, those who would like to chat, debrief, and socialize over food and drinks will meet at a nearby restaurant to be determined.
I'll be wearing a Minnesota Atheists shirt and waiting near the front plaza of the building. Feel free to contact me through this meetup site, via email or leave your questions/comments in the comment section here.
