Mission Accessible exists to create a network of accessible "mission fields" where people and families affected by disability in D/FW feel welcome to share their faith together in a smaller, more personal disability-friendly and faith-empowering environment.
My husband Larry and I both live with disability--he is visually-impaired and I have MS (well some people call it MS, but I call it VIP Parking!) :)
According to the US Census Bureau, one in five people is considered disabled--that's 20% of the population! Yet according to Joni & Friends, only about 10% of churches natonwide have any Disability Ministry outreach.
Call that The Great Omission! Well that's where Mission Accessible comes in.
Our "ABCDEFG" Mission is to facilitate disability ministry where Able-Bodied people work alongside people experiencing Challenges and Disabilities to Evangelize people and Families affected by disability for the Glory of God. We know that all things work together for the good of those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28)...regardless of disability.
So Please Join Us! You ARE Mission Accessible! You don't have to "go it alone" any longer, and we simply can't do it without you. We look forward to working together to minister not just to you, but more importantly--through you--to help transform Disability Ministry for the better forever.
