Annual Picnic and Elections

Every Fall M.A.S.S. hosts their annual picnic and election. We will have a potluck dinner and hold elections for two positions on the Board of Directors.

Anyone is welcome to attend the picnic, however only paid members are eligible to vote for new members of the board. If you wish to become a member of M.A.S.S. you may do so at the picnic for $20. M.A.S.S. now accepts major credit cards, cash, and checks. For more information on the elections see below.

The picnic will be potluck style so please bring a dish to share or something to BBQ. Feel free to discuss what you are bringing in the comments.

M.A.S.S. is also happy to announce that this year it will be giving away the first ever M.A.S.S. Member of the Year Award. The Board of Directors has chosen one individual that it feels has gone above and beyond in their commitment to M.A.S.S. and wants to recognize their contribution at the picnic.

Election Info:
M.A.S.S. has a board of directors composed of seven individuals each serving a three-year term. When a board members term is over, elections will be held at the annual picnic to fill that position. This year three positions on the board are open. At the picnic, nominations will be accepted for new potential board members. Each nominee will be given a chance to speak to the group about their interest in the group and what they feel they will be able to bring to the board. After the nominees have a chance to speak to the group, M.A.S.S. members will vote for their top two picks. Votes will be counted and the two new Board members will be announced during the picnic.

After the Board has been appointed, the directors will meet separately in the following month to determine new officer positions on the board.

Do we need more than one? I think I brought mine last year, but Jon picked it up on the way to the park. It's too big to push over there, though it has wheels.

I have the M.A.S.S. beer pig. It's a Kettlehouse pig. I'll refill it there. Suggestions?

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
