We want to share a meal with our friends. without the stress of putting on a big party. A Soup Party spells "COMFORT" from the minute guests walk into the home and smell the rich aroma coming from a warm pot on the stove, not only encourages mingling, but has a more "drop-in," "come-as-you-are" feel, which people like during busy seasons.
So let's get together for a "Super Soup & Stew Party at Stu's", a traditional get together, and start a "tradition".
• Soup or Stew of your choice, in a crock-pot is best, which will keep it warm, but you can bring it in a regular pot, but you will be in charge of warming it on the stove. Only 4 burners to use at a time. I will put up some links you can read and get some ideas.
• Bring a "Good" wine to compliment your soup or stew.
• Annual members, no fee.
• All other members sign up for an annual membership, or $2 each meetup. And we are just warming up.....so to speak, for the year. If you have a friend who would like to attend please have them sign up as a member, please.
• This is a casual dress, gathering of old and new friends.
We need two people to bring desserts. Depending on the number of participants one person could make a large salad with dressing. We will provide a variety of breads, butters, cheese, croutons, oyster crackers, soup bowls, utensils, wine and regular glasses, napkins, wine of course, and more.
****** VARIETY is key, so please make a "Comment" as to what soup you will bring Don't forget a sturdy ladle for your soup.
THIS WILL BE A WARM AND COMFORTABLE MID-WINTER TREAT.
Some ideas: Tomato Basil, Hearty Vegetable or Minestrone, Split Pea, or a classic Chicken Noodle, Chile, Beef stew, Lamb stew, all Vegetarian stew.
****If you have a game for a group, please let me know. I have "Catch Phrase", which is a good group game, that generates a lot of laughs.
