2013: Mobile in Review - and What Comes Next?

Yes, it's that time again!  The mobile industry is a very dynamic environment and 2013 was no exception.  Join Mobile Monday Detroit for its annual meeting on the topic, “Mobile Year in Review”.

The format for this December 9th event will be slightly different from our standard meetings in that this meeting is structured to encourage broad audience participation. Mobile Monday Detroit organizers Linda Daichendt and Randy Nunez will review our Mobile Monday Detroit events of the past year, as well as highlighting key industry issues of 2013 including:

  • BlackBerry's 2013 Journey: what's next?

  • The Microsoft story: smartphones, tablets, and Ballmer's departure

  • Android domination of the smartphone and tablet market

  • Open Source Mobile OS's: Do they have a future?

  • Mobile Payments: are they mainstream yet?

  • Wearable Computing: fad or game-changer?

  • And many other topics of interest

Bring your thoughts, perspectives, opinions, and questions with you as together we reflect on past events to understand the future impact that they will have on our industry - and all the industries impacted by these technologies.

Nicely done Linda and Randy. Appreciated the summary, prognostications and audience participation. Looking forward to another great year for Mobile in 2014! The Balmer sales video looked alot like the old BlackBerry 'Marty's Mobility Megastore' video. If I find it I'll post. -Jim

It's high time we figured out how to put more focus on mobile development in Michigan on the front pages of ALL our local media and then PR/leverage that into the national press!!!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
