Ep #25 Case Study: Canada's Indigo App Project

                    Indigo – Enriching Your Life With Mobile Retail

For episode #25, we're super excited to have Toronto-based BNOTIONS, share with us their experiences in designing and developing the Indigo mobile shopping app for iOS and Android.  Both apps were released earlier in December 2013 just in time for the holidays!   Indigo is an industry-leading B2C mCommerce & loyalty app, providing a truly integrated omni-channel shopping experience, combining mCommerce, eCommerce, in-store shopping, and Indigo’s signature rewards program in one elegant app.

With a focus on customer service, mobile commerce, loyalty innovation and above all else; making mobile shopping simple and fun, BNOTIONS was engaged by Indigo to help re-define the Indigo experience.

Using the app, users can simply scan the barcode of any book, music or miscellaneous product, and instantly purchase it in-app.  The app also allow users to create and integrate their wish and gift lists, receive targeted offers, access their digital Plum rewards card, get personalized recommendations, and share location and preferences over Facebook.

The app adheres to both platforms’ design guidelines quite nicely: the Android app has that now-recognizable left-side sliding menu, and the iOS version keeps things flat and simple, with a set of icons arrayed on the bottom for quick navigation.
