Windows 8, the newest platform for mobile apps, is the next generation of the most popular operating system in the world. Windows 8 apps provides a new opportunity for developers to provide a more immersive experience on the desktop or on mobile devices.
In this special 2-part session, we're excited to have Ashley Arbour (Interactive Designer) and Mukul Seth (Interactive Developer) share with us their experiences in working with WP 7 and Windows 8 apps and Windows 8 desktop. They'll also talk about key features that you need to know to build HTML/JavaScript or XAML/C# apps.
Here's a highlight of what we'll be discussing together:
Part 1 - Design:
Part 2 - Development: (knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript would be beneficial)
NOTE: In May, we will be hosting a Windows 8 workshop where you can take your learnings here and turn your very own app idea to reality! Stay tuned...
If you are a tech startup or a student developing Windows apps, check out the number of free Microsoft software and perks through initiatives like BizSpark and DreamSpark.
Bring your questions and ideas to this session, we hope to see you there!

Hello Everyone,
Thank you for your RSVP to this Wednesday's mobile session - Designing & Developing for Windows 8. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we will be rescheduling to May instead. There will be no meetup this Wednesday April 10th. We do apologize for any inconvenience and really looked forward to meeting some of the new members as well as having an exciting discussion with our two presenters!
We will be confirming a date in May as soon as possible, and hopefully we'll be seeing you there. In the interim, if you would like a full refund of the $5, please let me know and we'll be happy to take care of it.
Thanks for your continued support.
Bonnie Lui, on behalf of the MobileStartupsTO team.
