The Exit: Getting your Company Ready for Acquisition!
Mitch Lazar will join MoMoCo on Monday December 10th to discuss the “Company Exit”. Mitch recently sold Taptu, a London based digital media content aggregation and personalization platform to Mediafed, the global leader in RSS monetization and analytics. The acquisition of Taptu will help Mediafed drastically increase their mobile user base and provide a full end-to-end monetization strategy for the company across device platforms. The September financial transaction between Mediafed and Taptu is currently undisclosed, but during their over 5 year existence as a separate company Taptu raised around $18M in venture capital funding. Mitch currently still serves as an advisor to the combined company.
Prior to joining Taptu he spent several years as a Mobile and Media & Entertainment Executive with companies like Yahoo, Time Warner, AOL, and CNN. While at Yahoo Mitch was the European Managing Director of Yahoo! Mobile responsible for all operations including partner and business development as well as strategy, and before joining Yahoo he was the Vice President of Wireless and Emerging Technology at Time Warner where he led their overall mobile strategy and operations.
Mitch will discuss several aspects of the technology start-up process, including:
* How to reposition business models for re-investment
* Aligning investors and board members for an exit
* How to structure companies for an acquisition
* Exit pitfalls to watch for
So if you are interested in understanding the various aspects of how to prepare for a company exit in the technology world then this is your chance! This will be an interactive presentation with lots of chances for Q&A throughout the evening. We look forward to seeing you all and having a very dynamic evening!
Agenda:
*Networking 6:00-6:30PM
*Welcome and Intro. 6:30-6:45PM
*Mitch Lazar, Former CEO, Taptu 6:45-8:00PM
How about improving the benefits of any meeting: Instead of having us just sit there during the 5-40 minutes we're sitting in our seats doing nothing productive (waiting for the event to begin), why not have some sort of organized networking?
