Dewey's 24 Hour Read-A-Thon

I am so excited to tell you Dewey’s 24 Hour Read A Thon is back!!  I love doing this event because I get through a book or two in one day.

On April 26th the Challenge of reading ALL DAY long starts.  During the bi-annual read-a-thon we will read books, post to our blogs, Facebook and Twitter or Goodreads  about our reading, and visit other readers’ blogs.  We will also participate in mini-challenges throughout the day to win prizes.  (I love that part!)  This event happens twice a year, in April and in October.  It was created by the Dewey. The first one was held in October 2007.  Dewey died in late 2008.  The read-a-thon was renamed to honor its founder in 2009.

On April 26th theDewey’s 24 Hour Read-A-Thon will start at 5am for Los Angeles.  If you want to learn more and to sign up, click on the links.  There is no money involved and it’s purely for the love of reading.

Go to http://24hourreadathon.com/ to learn more and to sign up!  Every hour I will try to post (here) the link to the hourly challenge.

You don't need to have a blog to participate.

This is an online event and the Dewey website is the host site you check in every hour.  This is the best event to get through a few books on your nightstand.

Question: What are you all planning on reading for the read-a-thon? I am planning on making a dent in Wrapped in Rainbows and I will have This Bitter Earth audiobook playing for cooking and cleaning time. I would love to finish The Aloha Quilt as well. Fingers crossed.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
