Meetup for our Halloween shoot at Masonic #1 Cemetery. Park and gather at the corner of Bienville and City Park Ave. Let's start on Sunday at 4:30 pm so we can shoot when the light gets good. Models please come in costume and as close as ready to go as practical. Further details will be announced. Please RSVP so I can see who's coming.

To make sure we have models, feel free to invite some that you know and let me know who they are. I have two models who said they will come... Love to have some of our meetup group models there especially! ++++(Thanks to Maggie for her idea)-->>>>>>>

I know this was previously done, but I think it could be neat (forgive my cheesiness) given the time of year that we have a photo shoot with multiple models in a graveyard. If makeup artists and hairstylists wanted to get involved to showcase their skill TFP they could even turn some of us models into ghouls or monsters of some sort. I think the models would have to provide their own neutrally colored wardrobe. This may be even more cheesy, but a pumpkin patch could be fun with female models dressed in black in a vintage/pinup style or as cute witches.

I would like to request a round of applause for our member, Maggie Schuler, for suggesting this meetup. Maggie couldn't make it due to last minute modeling work, but i'm sure it would have been even better had she attended. Thanks for your idea, Maggie. Next time we'll try hard to pick an open time for Maggie to attend.

Thanks for a thoroughly enjoyable cemetery shoot experience. Great photographers and models, lots of laughter and fun while focusing on the subject at hand... everyone working together for the best possible results! Looking forward to being involved in more shoots like this in the future! (And Mardi Gras is coming up. Just thought I'd toss that out there for a future shoot well in advance of the season. Ya never know. You just might come up with a great poster or postcard possibility.)

Jeff, thank you and everyone else for putting on a great shoot. It was a lot of fun, and the models were fantastic. I can't wait to see some shots once they get posted to the site.

This was a very enjoyable event. Jeff did a lot of preperation for it and it showed, as it was well organized and the flow of it very smooth. The models were wonderful to work with and gave us photogs a lot of different images to capture. Speaking of photog, this was a very nice group of people very friendly and willing to assist others when needed. I give this event an "A".

a little cloud cover and light rain will just lend to the mood. I will be there either way (so long as not torrential rain). after all, thats what lense hoods are for.

Meet on the Bienville Street side or on the City Park Ave. side, but NOT on the Conti side of the Masonic #1 cemetery. We are coming in indiscriminately after they are closed, so do not park or meet at their front gate entrance on Conti.

Another way to be respectful is to not show the names of the deceased in the photos. Either exclude them in-camera or edit them out later.

I just uploaded a release form with TFP, standard photographer release terms and medical liability release to our files section. Let me know if editing necessary, but will need this signed before participation. Tried to make it as fair as possible. - JT

Several cemeteries have openings to get in. Touchy subject. We'll be respectful of the conditions and leave all the way we found it. Most seem to be open in the mornings and closed by early afternoon, @ 1 pm. Alternative is to shoot in morning, but the public come through - people there to pay respects to their loved ones not wanting vampire & undead references. What we're doing, I've found shooting in places that were not open to loved ones is a better setting, just being respectful works best.

Please do. We'll set up groups, and your stuff can stay with you. Also anyone with various equipment can bring it so we can shoot and bounce light, create colors, etc.

I am going to check out the area this weekend for best spots for us to set up. If anyone has costumes or props, please bring them. I have a couple of bags of Halloween props and materials, including swords, axes, fangs, blood, black lipstick, spooky jewelry, Vampire Ball masks, etc. Rebecca and Greg have some stuff they can bring. Anyone else bring stuff.

Models please bring spooky, gothic and retro outfits and props if you have them. Everyone, find tear sheets from magazines or the web of spooky ideas and poses you like. Makeup artists, please let me know any ideas or needs. Looking forward to a good mix and match of shooting after we break into groups. - Jeff[masked]

Maggie, if you're looking for a photographer to do a shoot, emailing it to the group is a good idea. That way, people like Matt that want to go TFP trade, etc, can contact you.
As for your idea about the spooky shoot, I like it. Great to have it come from a model in our group. There are two nice graveyards in the New Orleans area, Metairie Cemetery is one of the nicest in the coumtry. Another one is at the foot of Canal Street. Maybe a meetup there around 6 pm on a Saturday evening in October?

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
