Mel is the founder of The Performance Tree and Honestysnax.  The former is a provider of training, facilitation and coaching in the area of personal and team effectiveness and relationship development while the later is a vending business based on the concept of fostering team values by use of an honesty system.

Mel has been a marketer for 15 years developing business relationships with clients, suppliers and partners, across a diverse range of sectors from restaurants, IT, construction to public and social sector organisations mainly through networking and direct marketing and sales.

As Past National President of JCI Scotland (The Junior Chamber of Commerce - Worldwide Federation of Young Leaders and Entrepreneurs) and JCI Edinburgh, Mel grew membership, and developed key partners and sponsors through networking and building effective relationships.  Sponsorship was a thing of the past and new innovative ways of engaging support from businesses and organisations was required.

These relationships grew beyond her hobby of JCI and supported her to successfully start The Performance Tree and end up in diverse and fascinating scenarios from entertaining venture capitalists from Silicon Valley, connecting funders for third sector, speaking on entrepreneurship for social enterprises, and being a Trustee on the board of Challenges Worldwide, shadowing European Parliamentary ministers, and working with the united nations on their development programmes with JCI.

She has been a member of many diverse networking organisations in Edinburgh and  Scotland over the years and it is frequently stated that you can not go any with Mel without her bumping into at least one person she knows. “Networks are invaluable and also great fun to build”.
