September meet up: "This is Where I leave You" by Jonathan Tropper

Our July Meet up was AWESOME! I think everyone had as good of a time as I did. There was some great discussion about the book and life in general. August is pretty busy for most people so we are going to have our next meet up at Brandi's house on Friday night, Sept 5. Also, there is a dive bar close to her house that we will go to after! It should be a good time. (of course that part is optional;0))

So, for September, please bring an app to share, a bottle of wine if you wish, and $5 for the meet up dues. (It is really very much appreciated!!) There is also a movie trailer for this.....so we can all go to the movie together as well! :) Here is the synopsis of the book:

The death of Judd Foxman's father marks the first time that the entire Foxman clan has congregated in years. There is, however, one conspicuous absence: Judd's wife, Jen, whose affair with his radio- shock-jock boss has recently become painfully public. Simultaneously mourning the demise of his father and his marriage, Judd joins his dysfunctional family as they reluctantly sit shiva-and spend seven days and nights under the same roof. The week quickly spins out of control as longstanding grudges resurface, secrets are revealed and old passions are reawakened. Then Jen delivers the clincher: she's pregnant.

This Is Where I Leave You is Jonathan Tropper's (One Last Thing Before I Go) most accomplished work to date, and a riotously funny, emotionally raw novel about love, marriage, divorce, family, and the ties that bind-whether we like it or not.

I promise that I'm usually not this much of a flake! Seems like this second pregnancy has me in the Worst Book Club Member category :( I'm exhausted and my back has been killing me. so I'm going to keep my preggo self home tonight on the couch. I loved the book and am totally 100 percent up for joining you all for the movie. At least I can take up two chairs and recline in the theatre seat :) Sorry again for the late notice. Miss everyone! Up for a play date if anyone wants to have one :)

I'm part of the 20s and 30s meet up group and I'm expecting my first baby in October. Is it too early to join the mom's group? I read this book!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
