This is a group for local stay-at-home and working moms who wish to connect with other moms in the area, creating friendships and memories for the whole family! MOSI offers a wide variety of fun meet-ups such as playtime at the park, in-home playdates, story- time at the library and other library events, lunch dates, arts and crafts, family gatherings, game nights, and much more. Occasionally, the moms will get together for a "Mom's Night," either hosted by a member, or at a local restaurant.
The sucess of this group is based on the participation from the mothers. Every six months members sign for various roles with in the group, for example zoo coordinator. This allows responsibilities and planning to be shared across the group without any one person taking on too much. Each volunteer role position would be responsible for one play group a month, unless otherwise specified, within the category they choose. Positions rotate and open twice a year. Members are encouraged to volunteer for a position once a year.
This group is for children of ALL ages, though most meet-ups are focused towards the ages of 0-5 (if you have an older child, the host will do their best to accommodate, so events can be fun for them, too). Dads are welcome to join the meet-ups as well, unless noted otherwise on the particular event's description.
*To ensure the safety of our children, ALL pending members must first meet with the an organizer in a public setting. Afterwards, you will be accepted into the group and will be able to view the calendar of events. We look forward to meeting you!
• Annual membership fees are $25.00 and will be due within 14 days of being approved to join the group. Once you're a member, they are collected every year by March 26th. These fees are non-refundable and are used to fund our group's site and to help improve meetups as needed. Our group considers a year to be "March 26 of the current year to March 26 of the following year" vs a year to be "an individuals joining date to 365 days later," in order to make collecting dues as simple as possible. If by March 26th, you have not been a member for a full year, I will prorate your dues.
• To remain a member of Southern Indiana Moms, you must attend at least 2 events per month. If you are unable to do this for any reason, please contact the organizer, as some circumstances are excusable (such as having a baby or going on vacation).
*After requesting to join, please check your email. Nicole Stripe will respond within 1-2 week days to set up a day/time to meet. If she does not hear back from you within 2-3 weeks, your membership will be declined.
*If you have any questions, feel free to send a message to the Organizer of the group, Jenifer Scott, Co-Organizer Kathleen Browning, or Co-Organizer Nicole Stripe. Thanks!
