I had a computer crash and the file wasn't saved so the only copy is a hard copy and I haven't had time to transcribe it yet. Can't get it together by tomorrow so I'd like to present next time. Will be there Monday night....see you then.

Sounds good, Ben - I'll update the meetup. Thanks!

    Hi All,

I've contacted Ben about his submission but haven't heard from him yet - I'll keep you posted. Hopefully he'll upload it ASAP. Until then, we have Ann and Mark.

So Mark are you presenting on Monday also? I see your file in there but not Ben's.

Are you speaking of the same Ben who is not attending?

Does the conversation flow? Is there a sense of place? Are there enough details to enable you to follow the action and the geography? What do the houses look like? What does the Chosen House look like? About the people of Uba'id: what is their attitude towards war? Towards animals? Towards the Nugig? Do I say enough about this so that you can follow the narrative? Or do I say too much and belabor the obvious? What does the Eldest Havah look like? What does Rahevet look like? How old is she? How agile is she? What does her mother look like? What does her granddaughter look like? What does Old Red look like? What do the invaders look like? Would it help to have a map of southern Mesopotamia with the location of the Gulf, the lake, the rivers, and three or four cities? Would it help to have an ancient image of the seven-tiered garment worn by the Nugig? I have such images and will bring them to show after the discussion of the writing.

I think we can absolutely have a worthwhile discussion and good critiques with just a handful of people. See you on Mon.???

We now have nine coming. I am looking forward to it.

I only see Ann's submission in the files section. We don't have Ben's file yet?

Im looking forward to coming. Tighter discussion groups can be just as positive as large ones because there's more time for everyone to discuss.
