Are you looking for fun ways to socialize your pup while meeting new people who share your positive, rewards based training philosophy? This is a group for dogs [ALL BREEDS] and their owners who face discrimination based on breed or disability: the “underdogs”. Pit bull and other “bully” breed dogs have inaccurately been stereotyped by the public as aggressive, dangerous animals. The goal of this group is to create a forum where dog owners can share valuable information with each other, find useful resources, educate the public… and most importantly socialize! We promote a positive reward based training philosophy and strive to help others recognize the negative consequences of using outdated, aversive techniques.
Those of us that own bully-breed dogs or disabled dogs know that they make some of the best animal companions! We decided to start this group as a way for dog owners in the Monmouth County area to meet other owners with a positive, reward based training philosophy who want to socialize their dogs, exchange ideas and information, provide support, and change public perceptions about these wonderful animals.
We try to schedule weekly Meetups (on-leash walks, attending local events, volunteering, etc.) to provide owners and/or their dogs with opportunities to socialize. If you are an owner who shares our reward based training philosophy and are looking for a way to have fun with your dog, then this is the right group for you!
