Lean Beer | Startup Missoula

Lean Beer, just like Lean Coffee, is a structured, but agenda-less meeting. Participants gather, build an agenda, and begin talking. Conversations are directed and productive because the agenda for the meeting was democratically generated. There are currently dozens of Lean Coffees happening world-wide, including Seattle, San Francisco, Stockholm, Toronto, Boulder, New York City, but only one Lean Beer meetup we know of, right here in Missoula, Montana. Nathan, I have scheduled our large meeting room at the library for the startup weekend March 7-9. I have it starting at noon on Friday. I do not know whether this will be an appropriate venue, but it is usually scheduled well in advance. I hope we can determine in early January whether we would want this, so I can leave it for others if we do not want it.

Hi Jim. We are hopeful to make a determination on the Startup Weekend space by early January. We have 2-3 venues we're looking at already and one that we'll likely go with already. I appreciate you scheduling that, but because of the format of the event and the late night hours of it and the many breakout rooms that are required for the teams likely the library would not be a good fit. I appreciate it very much though. Can you shoot me an e-mail at [masked] so I can start interfacing all the maker folks together for the meetup we discussed? Thanks again Jim!

What a great meeting last night. I was skeptical about the Kanban method of discussion, but after 2 meetings, this is a method I want to continue to use. Thanks to Harold and Nathan for their great facilitation.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
