Intro to Arduino

  • Needs a date

  • Needs a location

  • I don't know if anyone here has used Arduino before, but if you have, I'd love to hear about it. For those of you that don't know, Arduino is an open-source hardware and microcontroller programming framework. Read more here:

Dan, that thing looks awesome. I've added it to my wish list.

Sorry, the ChipKit Uno is actually a Digilent product, not MicroChip.

I'm using the Arduino Uno and the MicroChip ChipKit Uno with the Basic I/O board. Just playing with it at this point.

I have a little experience with Arduino. Well, enough to cobble together a costume for my GF's dog and win a years supply of dog food at Murdochs... I am In MSO and would like to get together with some folks who are interested in arduino here.

I want to attend (Missoula is where I live so that's my preference). Have just ordered an Arduino and some related components so I may have some experience with the thing by the time of this meet.

It would be fun to tinker with an Arduino.

Is this going to be in Missoula? If so maybe we can setup a class in Bozeman at the same time.

I've done a bit of Arduino/AVR tinkering and would love to come if the timing is right for a trip from Great Falls! I'm no expert but I could probably share a few things.

This was a suggested session at the first Missoula BarCamp - but it never happened. Keep hearing more about Arduino. Would be fun to get to actually play with it.

Lance, if the space works in Bozeman I can't see why it wouldn't make sense to expand into the Missoula market as well. I just got my first Arduino on order but I've worked with the Make Controller in the past.

Daniel, that's awesome! I have an idea: bring it to Missoula! :)

Do you have experience with Arduino or other microcontrollers?

    January 14, 2011

  • Daniel S.

Just an FYI, we are in the process of starting a Bozeman area Makerspace/Hackerspace. If you have any interest or know of anyone who might enjoy tinkering with others, keep us in mind. Better yet if you have ideas we sure would like to hear them.

I've been interested in Arduino for art installations. Yet, haven't run into anyone in Missoula (yet) who is experienced.

I would love one of these in Bozeman if anyone has experience.

Sounds like a great idea! I think it's great that folks are contributing their knowledge! It might not be something I will ever use specifically, but I bet I would learn something that would be helpful in other ways!
