Building A Simple Web Scraper (Bozeman)

Rob Lund is going to go over how to build a simple web scraper. These types of programs can be used for all kinds of cool things, pulling data from sites without an API, creating a pseudo-RSS feed, command line web tools, etc. This will be using Ruby and a couple simple libraries, but prior knowledge of Ruby is not necessary to understand how it works. In fact, these simple scripts could be the perfect way to get started messing around with Ruby. We'll have a cooler full of frosty beverages. Bring your questions and ideas.

Rob, sorry I missed this -- well, not rally sorry: was off on a ski/hike trip. But if there's a video posted, I'll definitely be watching it.

Excellent, just enough detail, easy to understand examples for non-Rubyists.

Darn... I'll be out of town again. Third in a row that I won't be able to make it to.

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
