I ran the idea of having reoccurring meetups online through Google Hangouts in the discussion board this week. The idea was met with interest so I thought it worthwhile to suggest the meetup. The concept lies in the fact that Montana is a very big state and members may not be able to travel the distances in order to participate in various events. Google Hangouts provides a mechanism to allow a select number of participants to interact visually while a larger audience spectates and interacts textually. I've see various other groups achieve a very real presence using the method and think it would work well with our group.
If we could find a dedicated speaker and a date and time we could give it a whirl.
