If you are interested in learning more about working with geographic
data through web mapping or desktop analysis, please join us at the
"Flathead Valley Geospatial drinkup". We will be having an informal get
together this Thursday, April 24 from 6-8pm in Whitefish, MT. Full
details are available at:http://www.meetup.com/montanaGeo/events/175385892/
encourage newcomers to the Geospatial arena to attend, learn from
seasoned GIS professionals, and hopefully we can cross-pollinate with
seasoned programming professionals about how to incorporate more
geographic data in our existing and future projects. There is no formal
agenda or presentations are planned. Just bring some discussion ideas
like cool projects you're currently working on, or geospatial problems
that you'd like to solve or learn more about.
Why should you attend our Meetups?
- For Newcomers who have a general interest in maps and mapping technology, we can show you how to get started using GIS technologies.
- For Students who are interested in pursuing a career, we can provide you with real-world projects, ideas, and mentorship.
- For Developers
who want to add maps or spatial analysis to your applications or web
pages, we can provide insight into geospatial technology and issues you
may run into.
If you are
curious to learn more about the application of geospatial technology in
our world, I encourage you to watch some excellent (short, ~2-5 minute)
videos at the Geospatial Revolution Project:http://geospatialrevolution.psu.edu/trailer.php
We hope to see you there,
