Writers & Artists Session (for those interested)
Meets every week - if interested in joining up with our weekly writers and artists group, they meet here tonight too, and will be joining in for the fun! You'll feel better showing up because you'll make friends and get something done. No one will see what you've done , or give you unsolicited advice. Shut Up and Write! (or illustrate) is a place to create in the company of others on a regular basis. Writing (and art), whether as a profession or as a hobby, is an isolating activity. We provide these meetings as a way of developing a community of creative people. We welcome people who are serious about their craft, or just having trouble staying focused or looking to get started, and are looking for the companionship of other writers.
It's always an empowering and rewarding experience. You will see progress in your writing or creative project with friends and while having fun. After everyone's socialized and had a nice time getting to know each other for about half an hour, the facilitator will lead introductions and possibly discuss personal creative successes such as getting published or overcoming resistance in some small way. No critiquing, exercises, lectures, ego, competition or feeling guilty.
Suggested Donation: $1 to help cover meetup costs.
