An afternoon field sketching session at Point Lobos. Point Lobos is a slice of heaven with limitless opportunites to draw and paint. Let's take the trail towards Moss Cove and Granite Point, with views overlooking Point Lobos, Whaler's Cove, Monastery and Carmel Beach.
Weather permitting. Park and meet on dirt shoulder before the park entrance. Prepare for about a mile hike, with layered clothing for what might be windy and cold. I recommend a portable field sketching stool and snacks along with your art supplies.
Look forward to seeing you there!
"The Moss Cove trail crosses over uplifted marine terraces, remnants of ancient beaches from an earlier geologic age."
"At the high point of the trail there is a windswept rocky outcrop amid a garden of low-growing wildflowers. "
