      Hi Wendy, I emailed the organizer for more info. But so far my plan is just to show up with chalk, and hope to be included as one of the participating artists. From what I understand, they need artists, so I encourage anyone who wants to to show up.

    More Details on A Chalk in the Park:
    This is a major fundraising event for the Salinas Circle for Children.
    Artists are given a large sidewalk square, and paired with a sponsor to create a work of chalk art on-site. The artwork must incorporate the sponsor's name.
    Artists are required to bring their own chalk & supplies. No oil-based chalk allowed. (I'm bringing my old chalk pastels).
    The visitors of A Chalk in the Park will vote for their favorite
    Chalk Art Design.
    1st Place Favorite will receive $[masked]nd Place Favorite will receive $300.00
    People’s Choice will receive $200.00
