Wine is one product that can only be produced well with the same determination, love and attention to detail that an artist gives the work. The product is also bound up with the history of the land and the family that produces it. The history of wine is cultural history, and is a great window on the world. It also loosens the mind and the tongue, makes oneself and people more accessible and creates joy in the pleasure and the sense of discovery it offers. The pairing with food also opens doors to cultural and ethnic understanding. I'll save the rest for a Meetup.
Film as art, film as business and film as culture. The state of media today, especially journalism. Politics. Social justice anywhere. The future of communications and the consequences of its evolution. Our shared future as a country and as a global community.
Wine makes me very vocal and thoughtful at the same time, as well as more connected to those I am with. It also makes me more playful, and more open to having serious conversations about myself and the world. I would hope to meet people who willing share their intellectual curiosity and worldly experience and also look to learn from others.
I founded it.
I am a career film and television professional for whom wine has become an increasing source of gratification. The parallels are surprising.
