“What Not To Read” – A Different Kind of Book Club Meetup!

Since Laverne Bardy cancelled her speaking engagement, for our March meeting bring at least one book that you absolutely hated and be prepared to talk everyone out of reading it!

We’ll also discuss books we loved over delicious Italian dishes and pizza at the Reservoir Tavern in Boonton. Feel free to bring your friends and family for a fun night out on the town!

Couldn't attend tonight, but wanted to add my "Don't read" suggestion --- "The Lovely Bones" by Alice Sebold. I haven't seen the movie that was based on this book and don't know if they plot was changed significantly from the book. I liked the book up until the ending --- I felt the bad guy never got his punishment for all of the crimes he committed and the family of the girl who was the main character never had some sort of closure. The only silver lining was that the bad guy couldn't hurt anyone else.

This is a really informal meeting that we can easily split into two groups. Feel free to bring your friends and family -- but remember to indicate this on the RSVP list. I will be making "call ahead" reservations.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
