April meetup: PEOPLE YOU KNOW. Come out and play!

Come get reacquainted with some of your favorite musical people at our April meetup.  I'm talking about some lovely ladies like sweet Georgia Brown, Maggie Mae and Eleanor Rigby; and what would a party be without Senor Don Gato and Chelsea Dagger?  Come join me and Julio and serenade all the diners in Anthony's with some introductions to musical classics.

Find our PEOPLE YOU KNOW SONGBOOK with our Files (or take this link:http://files.meetup.com/11664582/1%20People%20We%20Know%20Songbook.pdf); download it and get reacquainted.  Each song has a tutorial up on our YouTube channel as well, so check those out if you like (at http://youtube.com/user/MorristownUkeJam).  After we play through the songbook we'll continue with a round-robin style jam, so feel free to bring songs for group playing/singing or practice up on a performance piece or two.  We promise to be a generous and encouraging audience.

Anthony's will have a full menu of food and drink available, so I'd encourage you to patronize them in appreciation for the wonderful home they provide us.  I plan to arrive at least 30 minutes early to have dinner  and to assist anyone who'd like some help on the songs for the night.

FEEL FREE to contact me with  any questions or concerns!  And then come out and play with us!

    Hi Marco and fellow ukies,
Thanks much for another wonderful evening. I have been practicing to get better. I have been trying to improve on singing and discovered it helps to record my voice on my ipod, and then sing and play along with myself. (yikes that sounds weird) but it helps me with timing. I might try to do that "live" next time with my voice tracks.

Fantastic way to meet other uke players and try new techniques. MANY thanks to Mark D for all his hard work organizing and ensuring that all players, at whatever level, feel comfortable. Such a fun evening!

Like Ken said: Click on the "More" tab at the top of most of these pages (right under the banner), then on "Files", and then you can click on "Name/Description" to sort them alphabetically. This will bring all the songbooks to the top (with a "1" in front of the title), followed by the individual song sheets from those songbooks (with a "2"), followed by the rest of the files.

I'm a Believer by the Monkees - simple and fun - it's sort of 'springy' and the chords are so ez
