PARTY PARTY! Cinco de Mayo minus one...

Yes, it'll be Cuatro de Mayo on Sunday May 4th, and although Mexicans celebrate Cinco de Mayo, I'm not actually Mexican... So come bring your ukes, sing, play, eat and drink with me in what I expect will NOT be a traditional Cinco de Mayo celebration.

But we WILL have Tex-Mex food and drink, and we'll sing and play all the Spanglish songs we can come up with, and we might just beat the snot out of a poor paper mache ukulele to find out what treats might be hidden inside it!

Also: ELVIS IS NOT INVITED. This party will be 3 days before our regular meetup - Elvis this month. So unless you're singing a Spanish version of his songs, let's save Elvis for May 7th. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure you can't have a bad party with sombreros either. I loved that we had exactly enough for the video!

What a fun event! Mark, you've done it again - great food, fun, folks, and ukes a-plenty! Thanks so much for hosting and for all you do to get the ukulele community together. I had a great time!

Well, that was some excellent silly fun, incredible food, ace leading, and welcoming hosting by Mark and Susan.

The highlight for me was the Morristown Uke Jam's initiation into the Seasons of the Ukulele. Here's Mark's post about it on the Seasons forum:
    http://forum.ukuleleunderground.com/showthread.php?95707-season-115-yeah-baby!&p=1519306#post[masked]

Just below it, I added some more detail, including everyone's first names.

Both posts include the video ... just click the arrow to play it right there. It came out great! Thanks to FiL and Mark for their superhuman effort in getting it up there in time for "Yeah, Baby!" Season.

You are all Seasonistas now! I love that MUJ has its own UU/Seasons account ... so we are "official".

Every week is a new "Season" with a new theme. They come out usually Saturday night and run 8 days, Sunday to Sunday. This week it's Tin Pan Alley songs, so hop on in and join the fun. (Jim ... you!) Pick a song, make a video, post it. Simple. Any of us experienced Seasonistas ... Mark, FiL, Ken, me - can help you get started.

The miracle man: leads not one but two friendly, fun jam sessions and (helps) cook a delicious Mexican meal. What a gift.

David, if you want to bring something small (salad?) it'll be eaten, but there's no need or expectation. (Do bring a uke, though - and a music stand would be a good idea as well.)

Thanks for the invitation, I'm looking forward to bringing my uke with me to the party! I had a blast last year!
