Come join us on a crabbing morning at the Mukilteo Fuel / T Docks before the 4th of July BBQ. You don't have to go too far: we will be about 200 yards away from Mukilteo Lighthouse Park. Just take a right on Front St at the end of Mukilteo Speedway (the last turn before you would drive onto the ferry dock).

Meet at 8am for a 9am splash. Currents are pretty heavy that morning. Slack is at 11.30am: however most of the crabs will be gone by then. At 9am the Flood will have moderated, though we may need to be flexible with the entry time depending on conditions. If some divers want to wait for slack then that is also an option - there will be time to complete the dive before the BBQ.
We will have a Crab Boil going at the BBQ for you to cook up your catch.

You MUST have purchased a Fishing License with a Crab Endorsement ahead of time to take Crab. Get these at Fred Meyer or Online at http://wdfw.wa.gov/fi....

Other things to bring/acquire as well as your normal dive gear:

  • DFW Catch record card
  • An Education if you are new to Crabbing. The videos and information at http://wdfw.wa.gov/fi... are very good. Also, other crabbers and myself will be happy to answer any questions on the day. Note that there are various numeric, species, size, and sex limits on crabs taken. DFW spot checks that morning are very possible, so please ensure you carefully follow all regulations
  • Catch Bag
  • Crab Sizer
  • Bucket to store and transport your crabs in

You can reach me on the day by cell-phone ([masked]) or at [masked] beforehand, if you have any questions.

    •  I was part of the group that dove in front of Lighthouse Park. There was a a steady current, and it was definitely a drift dive, but we managed to catch 4 dungeness within 25 min., all between 80 & 50 feet. Viz was at least 15 ft. once you got below 25 feet. Great day for a dive. Thanks, also, to Howie and Aluminator Water Taxi for showing up later and taking a group out to the end of the Mukilteo Oil Dock for another crabbing dive. Most everyone returned with full quota catches.
    •  Lots of fun! No crab though.
    •  Nice work with the barbie there kimster & Pete & Rebecca .
    •  Great time, thanks to all!
