Underwater Sports - Kirkland (map)
The Emergency First Response (EFR) course is required for rescue diver candidates and must be completed before starting the rescue class. It is also a required refresher class for divemasters every two years. This is a great class (you get to work with mannequins) but requires self-study prior to coming to class so we can focus on skill development. The manual will be provided ahead of time.
The Emergency Oxygen Provider (EOP) class is an excellent for course for current and future rescue divers, divemasters, advanced divers and family members that dive together. Timely application of oxygen to an injured diver is the single greatest factor in determining their recovery. Sadly, less than 50% of injured divers get the oxygen they need in the first hour after their accident. You do not have to own an oxygen unit to attend or benefit from the class.
The cost for the combined EFR and EOP classes for Moss Bay members is $95 (non-members $125) and includes separate certifications for BOTH classes. The Emergency First Response manual (loaner) is included but you'll need to purchase the Emergency O2 Provider manual. To register at the website below and get the member discount, please use the Moss Bay Member's certificate number "MOSSBAY" and a $15 value for each class.
