HopMonk Tavern - The MIghty Groove+CCB+Intersection

The Mighty Groove's mission is hip shakin', danceable funk and retro-soul. Those who groove on funky retro, and soul/jazz will appreciate The Mighty Groove's soulful covers of hits made golden by War, The Crusaders, Michael Jackson, AWB, Tower of Power, Prince, and others. TMG digs a deep groove as we explore the relationship between contemporary jazz, funk, and R&B. Fronting the band are sizzling saxophone sensation, Susan Copperman, and soulful, sultry vocalist Lyn Carpenter-Engelkes. On bass is the incredibly funky Jim Cervantes. Supplying our wah-wah needs is exciting and adept guitarist Chick "Shaft" Petersen. Drummer Greg Rocha is always in the pocket. Neil St. Andrew pumps the groove on the mighty Hammond. $5 admission

I made a dinner reservation, but I'm confused since I haven't been to this place. Is the music in a totally different area, and do I need to purchase tickets in advance for the music? If yes, seems silly to have dinner at 7 if the music starts at that time. I'd really appreciate input. I don't particularly care about dinner, going for the music~

Do tickets have to be purchased in advance, or can one just show up and buy at the door?

      February 18, 2014

    • Nick P.

I would buy in advance. Theres no way to tell how many people will show up.

It looks like a table needs to be reserved, and tickets purchased on line. Can you comment on that? Is there something we need to do?

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
