Angel Island Bike loop and/or Cantina

Bike Angel Island - This island contains the most awesome 360 panorama of the entire San Francisco bay area. The bike loop follows a paved 5-mile loop around the entire island. It has some steep sections but can be walked easily. There is so much to explore - The fort, the dilapidated buildings, a beach and the Chinese Internment Museum. A mile-round trip hike takes you to the top of the Island has a great view of EVERYTHING.

Afterwards enjoy the music of Victor & Penny at the cantina. Anyone is welcome to come on out even if you don't bike or wander the Island. If you just want to hike to the Museum it's about a mile from the dock-visitor area and join us for 'refreshments' afterwards.

For those biking the island, meet at the Tiburon Ferry dock at 9:30 ready to go. The ferry boat leaves promptly at 10:00. The round trip price is 13:50 (plus $1 for your bike). For those that wish to just come and enjoy the 'get together' later the ferry leaves Tiburon every hour on the hour, and return at 20 after every hour. We should all be back to the Cantina area by 2:30. The last ferry OFF the Island is at 5:20 (Don't miss it, it gets cold out there)

Parking can be a chore in Tiburon. I usually park for free at McKegney Park and bike the extra mile to the ferry. Bring plenty of water and provisions. Bring cash. Bring a camera, sunscreen, shade hat and enjoy the day.

A perfect day--just enough difficulty to make the ride challenging, fantastic weather, and beer and music at the end!

I was coming as a guest of Yolita's but she broke her beg toe today. So I just had help putting my bike in the car. I will need help getting it out and back in again ( I am sure I can grab someone riding by). Yolita had a 3 bike car rack. Looking forward to the ride as this is my 1st ride of over 2 miles. See you all at the ferry.

There's also a small parking lot across from the Caprice near the ferry, and limited parking on the streets in town. I know McKegney Park as "Blackie's Pasture".

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
