Keep That Smile 2 - The Season Of Giving

The Christmas and holiday season is around the corner. Many of us (including myself) have started to look at the different tech toys, luxury items and bargain gifts. It's easy to get caught up in the hoopla of purchasing that perfect something, or scoring a sweet deal on the hottest item on the market. But let us not forget, this is the Season of Giving.

Our last event which was held at the Melrose Home – The Children’s Aid Society, was an eye opener for many of us. The kids from the home were mainly from broken families and we spent the entire day playing board games and making them laugh. It was a nice feeling, knowing at the end of the day, we were able to create a smile.

For this Christmas, Expats On A Mission, Expats & Social Nomads, Mother Teresa Group & Expat Indians In Singapore will come together to raise money in order to buy Christmas gifts for the kids in Melrose Home. In the event we have a little extra cash, we will use that money to buy Christmas cakes & goodies for Singapore Cheshire Home - a “home” for the care of the seriously disabled having no or limited means

Indian House, located at Boat Quay is offering us a one-time deal of $25 for a brunch buffet. For every person, $5 goes into buying gifts for the homes. We need to raise minimum $400

The dished include:

Starters: Vegetarian Samosa (fried pastry with a savory filling, such as spiced potatoes, onions, peas and lentils) / Chicken Tikka (boneless chicken baked using skewers)/Sheesh Kebab (meat threaded on a skewer and grilled)

Mains: Dhal Makhni (gravy dish is made from whole black grams & kidney beans) / Palak Paneer (Indian-Pakistani dish consisting of spinach and cottage cheese) / Aloo Gobi (dish made with potatoes & cauliflowers) / Butter Chicken (chicken marinated overnight in a yogurt and spice mixture) / Rogan Josh (aromatic lamb dish) / Fish Curry

Dessert: Gulab Jamun (dough consisting mainly of milk solids rolled together and fried)

Drinks: Plain Water – Beers ($7) & Soft Drinks ($4) can be bought

Please reserve ASAP by sending us a SMS. You can bring along your family and friends too! Please SMS me at[masked] or Tan Moy at[masked] for more information.

Let us make a difference and keep that smile!

Manoj/Tanmoy

p.s. we would prefer advance payment however, if you are unable to do so, please bring exact change to make payment on the spot

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
