We Made the Paper!!
Today's (Jan. 17th) Canton Observer has an article on page A7 entitled "International Festival Wows a Crowd".
The article specifically mentions us as ,"New this year: the Motor City Ukes, a Ukulele Band." And contains a photo featuring three of our members.
Great work everyone. The article can also be seen online at www.hometownlife.com.

Message today from the coordinator of last Saturday's event. Woo hoo...we make a good team. :) I have a feeling we'll have many more successful events. Too much fun. I told her that we thought the event was awesome. Thanks again for making us look good.
Your group's performances were absolutely wonderful on Saturday. The
Motor City Ukes were awesome. The crowd loved it all and we hope that you will join us in the summer for Liberty Fest.
I know it takes a lot to organize and I truly appreciate the efforts
made by your groups to rehearse and be here on the day. I am sorry we were running so far behind; that is something I need to work on :)
Thanks so much,

Photographer will be there about 3 to take group photo. Meet us by the dressing rooms. We can pay her then so someone just collect. $50 from your group and $50 from us (cash, please). And you guys will get your own disc with photos after she does light retouch and editing. FYI...she will be using flash photog. while you guys are playing. I just want to give you heads up. See you soon! It's going to be a great show!

Melanee was able to reserve a photographer for us. The cost is $50 per disk. She is coordinating her group. If we each throw in a couple of $$, we can get a disk of all of the photos that she takes (to use as we wish). She can also crop/edit and retouch specific photos for an additional fee if we find a couple that we like a lot. This can give us good shots for the site. As for me since I'm not bringing a photographer, I'm in.

This stage is impressive. Please plan on attending the rehearsal on Jan. 9 at the Village Theater. It will be 7 or 7:30. I'm waiting for confirmation. This will be dress rehearsal on the stage and we can find a place to practice there as well or for you guys to continue your meeting there.

The hula dancers have a few songs that we haven't learned yet or have music for. They used to perform almost exclusively with recordings, but we have been adding our arrangements to replace these as we learn them. Hopefully we'll have all their tunes soon and be completely live.
