Dude's kind of a big deal. :)
Turns out that I watched & learned a few things from his videos when I first started playing.

Seemed kind of obvious; the guy can play! Mitch, you are cordially invited to the next LAUGH meeting -- Mighty Uke Day, too -- if you want to make the hour-and-some-change trek to Lansing.

Here's a link to "Grow Old with You". It's well worth the 3:02 minutes to take a look.
Awesome solos last night guys

Thanks for organizing a great meeting Nick and Craig. Virtuoso performances by Mitch and Ryan, Steve's bass, 3 first timers (is that a record?), Theodore's voice, the sing along at the end and the strumming of everyone present who contributed to the beautiful noise, and all this in one evening!

Great to meet all'a you last night!
Nice to meet you, too! We look forward to seeing you at future meetings.
It was great! It was wonderful to have Alisha, Kim and Mitch joining us for the first time!
I'd like to suggest Ta Hu Wa Hu Wai. While it is called the Hawaiian War Chant, it is a love song, but it has the opportunity to get some good audience participation. And it has a good history to it, being written by one of the Hawaiian Royal Family.

We had a last minute change of plan tonight. Joe is stuck working, so we won't be there this evening. Melanee, I hope you're feeling better soon! J&J
I will not be able to attend tonight. I'm not feeling well. Only one dancer was available, but she prefers to come with the group. I will let them know about your next meet up at our class on Saturday. Have a good meet up and see you next time.
Good comment on what versions of songs to use. Those of you that performed in January or have been to the past couple meetups are probably safe.
Use these from <More, Files> for tonight:
- 2013 January Gig Book, Posted Dec. 31, 2012
- Hi'ilawe C with Instrumental Break, Posted Nov.10, 2012
- Some of the other songs may be scattered about, but we can put them on the screen.
We'll decide on which songs to include and create a new gig book soon. One big PDF file so they can be easily found.

Highlights of Wednesday's Meetup include:
- The Hoaloha Dancers will join us in a dance review of our set list with special attention to "Hi'ilawe".
- Posted is a list of Hawaiian songs we know. We'll review this for ideas of new songs to learn.
- Review ideas for Mighty Uke Day performances.
- Some songs have been posted. Go ahead and post any songs you'd like to share with the group.
See you there.

Craig, Can we make sure we are all using the right version of the songs? I know there are some with two or three different files available.
It sure was great hanging with Motor City Uke folks at L.A.U.G.H. last weekend. I told folks I was gonna be there tonight but I forgot that I am taking the train to Chicago this evening. I will have to try again next month.
Please do, Steve!
I'm going to try hard to make it. I've been sick the last few days. I was feeling better last night, but I think the workday wore me out. So, it's a maybe for now. I'm still waiting for the other dancers to respond. If they're avail., they'll come. We did finish the choreog for Hiilawe so we can't wait to share it. Thanks!

I THINK I'll be able to make it tomorrow. I will try to be back in the area by evening. No promises, though.
Hey everyone! Melanie mentioned that she would like someone (or a small group if possible) to perform for her advanced class from 9-10 am this Saturday, Mar 16 (Synergy Dance Studio in Plymouth). The advanced girls wanted a little extra practice with us. She thought it might be super helpful to have us out there at least once a month to play for the advanced dancers, but she will let us know when she might need us :-) I just wanted to give people a heads up, if they wanted to plan for it on Saturday morning. Nick and I will not be able to do it this week.
Won't be able to come this week due to puppet play. See you next month.
Anyone coming from Ann Arbor?

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
