I live in the same road as the trailhead to the Volunteer Trail (my 'home' trail) - the loop is a good day hike in all seasons. With a group I would like to do Bryant Grove - it's fairly flat and with a group we could place cars at the end. In other words, I'm right here!
Sounds friendly, casual and non-competitive. Location is a plus.
The easy 2-mile loop around the small lake at Long Hunter is nice as are segments of the Volunteer Trail that are on the way to the overnight camp. Totally different from the day loop. I have hiked a bit in Lebanon and would like to do more. I have a 'made up' route at Long Hunter that is partly paved roads and partly woods. Great access to the lake when the water is low and fun place to climb on the rocks. Even the 1-mile deer trail near the office is nice. access and rock walking when the lake is down.

Not too early weekend days. When the days are longer I wouldn't mind a short hike after work.
I like moderate hikes and maybe joining a group will get me out there! My well-mannered dogs are both older now and no longer able to tolerate much hiking but I can enjoy others' dogs!
