Anza Community Beautification Projects

If you are an individual, group or organization interested in or already involved in community improvement projects you are invited to attend this discussion and planning meeting. Come and let share what you are doing, and we can discuss networking with each other for support, coordinating and combining some of our efforts and projects and also looking for various sources of funding, building grant writing teams etc. Let's see how we can build upon the Beautification efforts that have been started.

Hey, thank you Paul, that was almost better than being there : ) I will remind Richard Hotchkiss about the sign frames....the regular scout meetings will resume soon...and, I will look for future meet-ups regarding other projects. I am pulling weeds at the museum tonight 4:30-if anyone cares to join in...... : ) thanks again Paul for your reply....

Can you provide a short re-cap of the meeting? I'm interested in helping with upcoming projects....and also, getting the Boy Scouts involved when appropriate..... I guess future projects will be listed on meet-up....so, maybe no reason to re-cap...just if there is anything you would like the community at large to be aware of. Thanks

There are volunteer needs at various levels for all projects: grant writing, fund-raising, contacting organizations and getting more and more people to volunteer, and volunteering labor/materials on various work tasks as planned in the scope of work for each. These levels of volunteering should get broken out so as to overlay who does what when. We also discussed some future projects; I will meet with Robyn and get the futures list and incorporate all into the plan. From there we can start to plan the volunteer needs and work to expand the volunteer base to make the projects credible in the long term.

(With the Boy Scouts, we need to complete a couple of sign frames-one at park and one at the museum, then also complete the signs for various locations per my plans and discussions with the museum and Richard Hotchkins (spelling?) back in April when I did the frames and display cases with the Berkeley School 8th graders at the museum). BTW, some volunteer work will be repeat types, like the cleanup work at the park or a proposed regular cleanup of our major roads. These will be listed and the assignment of a responsible person done for each project to ensure that things are overseen and carried through, and also imperative to spread the work around so as to not burden a few; this should help to ensure that the work gets done as burn-out and overload can bring a stop to things. More to come. Hope it explains some.
