M-COR: Crop Swap

Based on a successful and popular Berkeley Transition model, the M-COR Food and Garden Group is initiating the first ever Crop Swap in Anza. Let see what the local Mountain Communities can do!

To get started, each person at the swap is handed a playing card, and beginning with the aces, swappers choose whichever item they like. Once each person gets a turn.

We will meet at the gazebo between Country Corners and Whiskey River Restaurant on Bahrman Rd in Anza. To participate you must bring fresh, homegrown, pesticide-free produce, preserved foods, eggs, honey or fresh home-baked goods from you kitchen or garden. Organic and non-GMO crops encouraged. Items will be weighed in or counted for record keeping purposes. Bring your own grocery bag or basket. No cash, as no items may be sold or reserved. It’s not a one-for-one trade; all things are given freely and taken freely. We are open to any suggestions.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
