http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/28s-big-sister-77

The pattern is also available in our files section and I'll have a few printed ones with me.

While you can start any time, please try to have the yarn and needles with you.

Thank you all for the help at the meeting. Tina I was wondering if you could tell me again where you bought the green yarn you used in the bottom of that shawl? I really loved the color and would like to get some.

Most of the items I make I just donate to shelters, hospitals or dialysis centers because no one in my family wears knit or crochet things. However if I find something that I feel would work for a family member and the "cheaper" version was fun to make, then I will buy nice yarn. This shawl was very fast to make and my oldest daughter might like it especially if I find the dark green color. Again, thank you and hope to talk with you all soon.

I'll be coming from bonney lake so I might be a couple minutes late. I was able to get my yarn at Yorkshire, on sale even. Will circular needles work for this pattern?

I often find that you can go a little shorter if you don't mind working a little closer at the end.

Thanks for winding my yarn Tina. Karley thanks for loaning me your spare pair of needles.

I'm really disappointed to have to change my RSVP last-minute, but it's my first day back at work after being sick in bed for 5 days and I'm really dragging. I plan to be in bed & asleep by 6 :-(

I am sick... I just realized I have a class scheduled on the North End at the very same time as our meeting. Is there a chance that anyone will want to meet earlier?

    January 6, 2014

    • Karley

Leisa, I will probably be there about 4

You can always start at the next meeting ... you don't have to attend this one to participate.

I am assuming "kal" means knit along and we bring this project to meetings to work on. I did finally get the pattern. I was at a loss where my kindle fire was putting the downloaded files.

Hi Laurie, yes "kal" means knit-a-long. And welcome to the group. Looking forward to meeting you.

I have tried every way I could think of and I don't know how to get the pattern.

I missed a lot while I was recovering from my surgery. Could someone please let me know where I can read about what is up with "kick off" shawl pattern?

Okay, I'm going to show my relative newbie-ness when it comes to non-wool knitting: Where is the best place in Tacoma to get the yarn for use in this shawlette? Thanks! :-)

You should be able to go to Yorkshire Yarns, 6122 Motor Avenue, Lakewood, WA 98499, (253)[masked] ... or Yellow House Yarns, 315 2nd St. NE, Puyallup, WA 98372,
      (253) 840-KNIT (5648)

Thank you, Tina! Love the phone number for Yellow House Yarns :-)

You should be able to use any yarn with a good drape. It does not have to be silk or expensive. Also, just about any weight up to DK can be used with either a size US 6 or US 7 circular needle.
