Jim, I saw what was possibly a vireo on one of my morning runs on the trail. It had a slightly warm and deeply saturated yellow belly and some olive green coloring. It didn't sit still long enough to get a photo but it definitely was not a goldfinch. It was too long for that. See you and Cindy tomorrow!

Jim, I wish I had gotten a better look. Other candidates could be a wagtail or the more yellow warblers. I'll take a closer look next time. That website is a great resource! Thanks!

This time of year we do get warblers. Yellowthroat female could be it. Also, possibly a female Bullock's oriole? Habitat (i.e. in the marsh or high up in a tree?), bill shape, other marks are things that help identify the particular bird. The fun thing is that you are noticing more and getting into it.

Here's the site that I purchased my 10k training program from. I feel a bit funny having paid for one when so many are free. However, I have met the guy (Jack), read his book (Daniel's Running Formula), met Boston qualifiers (Tom McGlynn and others) who have trained using his programs and I feel comfortable with his methods. So, I bought one. Here's the link in case you are interested: http://runsmartproject.com/coaching/training-plans/

Saturday marks week 3 of my 10k training plan. This time it's 2 miles easy (on my way to meet you all) and 6 x 400 at 1:56 with 400 recovery. So that's what I'm up to tomorrow!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
