Lungburstinghillclimbingtrailfindingheartpumpingbeerdrinking - Aberfoyle.

Yearning for something different ? Come and join us as we venture forth into the forest and take on some of the more natural and wilder trails that the Trossachs can offer. Stunning scenery and something for everyone so come prepared for some exercise and some thrills. Bring a helmet and make sure you and your bike are up to the task. The level is mostly blue verging on red with some black bits that we have found but are too scared to ride :-)

Hey there ... I had such a great time last night! omg can really feel my legs today but was such fun ... my first fall wasn't so bad too ... was a bit surreal like slow motion especially when all of a sudden my bike decided to fall on top of me but quite funny lol ... hope to come to lots more trips like that again, oh and enjoyed the drink afterwards, Lou :)

I fell over when I took my Tricross to Lennox Forest. Was wearing Spuds and couldn't unclip and it was just all a bit silly. just lay there giggling.

    • Andy S.

You were giggling, I was howling with laughter. One of the funniest offs I've seen.

I had three falls and the one Tam saw may have been a v gentle OTB, can't remember as I was too busy trying to quickly get back up!. Just a few bruises and skint knees though. Nothing major. All in the name of fun... ;)

Quite liked the convoy style driving. Hope I wasn't too close Kev. I have a tendency towards boy racing ;)

It was like a scene out of the fast and furious lol. I think it was nick in front of me. Drive it like you stole it ;-) I didn't actually realise it was you behind me till we emerged out of the stockiemuir road and I could see behind me. Hope your knee feels better soon :-)

Great ride, the climbs were fine, just not ready for narrow reds down. Glad I tried though but my knees are black and blue!
    See you all again soon

Def a good night, shame I had to get up at 6am and drive to Edinburgh!
Nothing puts me off, will try knee pads for sure. For now it's lots of arnica for the bruising

      July 17, 2013

    • Louise

Hey Kirsty was great to see you last night and hope the arnica's working :)

Lungs were burst, hills were climbed, trails were found, hearts were pumped and beer was drunk. Proper job.

Hi Andy do you think it would be okay if I came along ...totally no probs if you think it might be a bit tricky for me with lungbusting hills :) I enjoyed the aberfoyle ride a few weeks ago :)

    July 15, 2013

    • Louise

Oh fantastic ...great look forward to it :)

Hi Louise :) see you tomorrow!

      July 15, 2013

  • Andy S.

By the way, there's a pub right across the car park from where we meet. So if you fancy a pint of St Mungo's after the ride then bring beer tokens.

Hey guys, looking forward to heading out tomorrow night. New to "meet up" and first run out. Not new to biking though. Cheers, James.

Awww, nawww. Try not to be disappointed when you see what a rag tag bunch we are. All shapes, sizes, abilities, ages, IQs, etc etc etc. Here's hoping you have a good time and get to join in the banter.

I'm thinking we'll split in to two groups, covering similar ground, but taking slightly different descents where required. Team Blue with me at the front will come down the faster, swoopier, trails while Team Red with Tam leading will take the more tricky, technical ways down. Don't worry, there will still be plenty of hills to go up. Choose your weapons people.

Got a dropper post to collect :-)

    July 15, 2013

  • Andy S.

As there seems to be a few folk on the waiting list, I've upped them numbers and we can split in to two groups. We'll more than likely cover the same ground, unless we get lost.

I'm not the fittest and there is a good chance ill be at the back. But I'll be the first to down my pint at the bar and I'm always up for a laugh :-)

I'm in ... I think! Do you think I can handle it Andy?!

    2 · July 10, 2013

    • Andy S.

You'll handle it no problem Kirsty. There are options on most of the tricky stuff or you can just be like me and get off and shove :-)

I live in Thornhill so would be interesting to see what we can find.
