Blue Thursday

Aimed at first timers and beginners, this will be the usual steady paced visit to mugdock and surrounding areas. We wont be doing anything you wouldn't be able to walk down and expert advice and egging on will be on tap.

Usual rules apply, no helmet no ride, and bubble wrap taped round yer noggin is not a worthy substitute.

Make sure your bike is good working order. I want to see wheels able to pass through the frame and forks people and jamming the back wheel with your foot against the frame coz you've only got a front brake, will be frowned upon.

We will try and keep it around the 2 hour mark so try and be promt so we're not all standing around talking about ye.

We have been out a little longer than expected over the past few weeks and its definitely getting into light territory for the last half hour so if you have trail lights it might be an idea to bring them.

Was a good night but changing my profile name to Mr Tumble!! licking my wounds this morning and throwing back the Ibuprofen. Would love to totally blame the bike but think I need to accept the mind is more willing than the body.

I enjoyed it a lot even without lights so I have purchased the one Steven recommended and it should be here by Tuesday.

It'll be better than nothing allan but if you want to keep coming out in the evenings you will need something with more powa.

Neil, if the numbers stay as they are we'll split into 2 groups. Need to start heading back earlier too as was out on monday and it was pretty dark at 9pm. Thinking that 9:30 finishes are no longer an option

Yeah I'm happy to split the group. I wad going to change next weeks listing to add lights being required. Sharing lights is ok for dusk but as you say it's just gone 9 now and it is proper dark. Get yet lights ordered sooner rather than later folks. I'll bring a spare coz I know connor boy doesn't have a light.

Allan, I see you are down as waiting. Keep your eyes peeled, cos inevitably when you have a group of 20 something will come up and someone's bound to drop out, esp tomorrow afternoon.

It wasn't that beginnery a run last week! Pylon drop and lots of cool bracken-y sections that I hadn't done :-)

Was up near the pylon with the dog and kids today and found rose coloured cycle sunglasses - did anyone lose a pair or need a pair?
