Announcing a new Meetup for Mountain Bike Glasgow!

What: Easy Like a Sunday Morning...

When: Sunday, November 14,[masked]:00 PM

Where: Westerton Train Station Car Park
Maxwell Avenue, Bearsden

Meet at Westerton train station Car Park at midday.

Head along the canal to Kirkintilloch, then cut onto the old railway to Milton of Campsie, then on to Lennoxtown and Strathblane. From their take the forest track up to Carbeth woods and back down via Mugdock to Milngavie. Then a few main roads back to Westerton, or you can get train back from Milngavie. (Option if coming by car is to leave it at Milngavie Train Station and cycle to Westerton with me, leaving Milngavie at 11.30)

Very gentle potter, no technical stuff. Pretty flat apart from climb up at Strathblane.

Suit beginners or those who have not cycled for a while and want to find their "bike legs".
Mainly canal paths, cycle tracks and decent forest roads, but nothing technical at all.

Total distance will be about 22 miles, but as it is virtualy all flat should take about 3.5 hours, maye a bit more, maybe a bit less. We will be taking an easy pace so no-one drops behind.

Good scenery, hopefully good company and a great afternoon out.

PLEASE NOTE: Not technical at all, but be suitably prepared for the length of ride. Helmets, food, drink, spare tube, pump, though help will be on hand for any technical difficulties, but I cant fix everything!

I would encourage those that want to give Mountain Biking a go to come along and try it! It should be a decent introduction.
