  • The Mental Game of Lead Climbing

**  Cross posted with Pat's Meetup Group   "Sports Psychology Coaching of New England"  **

Lead climbing is more than a physical challenge. It's a head game. If you panic, or lose focus you can die. It's as much about achieving self mastery as it is about mastering climbing technique. When you learn self management and develop mental toughness you gain confidence and improve your climbing. Learn to transcend your fears and develop adaptive mental states for fluid motion on the rock.

The Workshop will cover these 8 Topics
    1- The Psychology of Risk
2- Fear, Anxiety & Self Management
    3- Confidence
    4- Focus and Concentration
    5- Mental Toughness
6- Mental Training & Visualization Techniques
    7- Motivation
    8- Flow & The Zone

Climbing on top rope and Mock lead climbing will be done for most of the day. This is the first time trying to blend these to types of days out. If it interests you to gain skills to work through the fear. Come on out an join us for the day.

Hey Folks, Bitter sweet and Bummed at the same time.. Pat or organizer got a job guiding clients at a air park hang-gliding this summer.. Good for him...! bad for us...! He will not be available on weekends this summer. He got the offer last week and accepted it and starts this weekend.. So I am going to cancel this Meetup and Pat and I are going to look for another "Weekday" that we can do this.. Our talks have us looking at a Thursday Nights maybe in Ma and NH likely our first one will be at Crow Hill in MA.. I am interested in trying to do this and i know Pat is on his end.. So, look for it being re-posted.... Jay

Great! Thanks Zac! I'd be down to climb afterward for sure! I work Fridays until 4, so beforehand is unlikely. I can pitch in on gas too.
