Backpacking: Sawyer Ponds - 2 days 1 Night ( Beginner Level 2 )
Pace: Slow & easy
2 Days & 1 night -- Low Mileage ( 4-5 Each Day ) & small elevation gain. Staying in tents.
Day #1 - 4.5 Miles -- Estimate 3.0 hours
Elevation Gain: 700ft -- Descend 300ft
Day #2 - 5.0 Miles -- Estimate 3.5 hours
Elevation Gain: 200ft -- Descend 300ft
This trip is ideally for the first time backpacker, good introduction. The more experience'd packer could consider this fun for the interesting for the great views into the scenic area of Sawyer Pond Basin.
Journey: Trip will follow the Sawyer pond Trail from the Kank at its trail head parking lot. Once at Sawyer pond campsite spend the night.
Morning, Trail back to the road via the Sawyer River trail to the Kank and either with a dropped car get back to our start or hoof it the five miles for one packer to retrieve the car.. We have options, can come back the same way too....
On top of Bug Spray!!! You must have the basic backpacking equipment.
Some stuff can be borrowed from other’s. I recommend a comment on the threads below your selected trip for available gear and carpooling etc..

1 Dinner Meal - Cold or Warm, Warm freeze dried add water only. OR if you want something that need simmering you need to bring your own pot for the community stove.
1 Breakfast - Ceral or other Coffee or Tea
6 Snacks for on the trail.
Trail Cloths Short Sleeve shirt, Shorts, Synthetic socks and sock liners. Sock Liners really help keep blisters away with new or not completely broken in footwear.
Camp Cloths, Long Sleeve cotton or other shirt. Zip on legs for shorts or pants Dry socks any kind. 100wt Fleece shirt or sweater & hat if your balding..:-0) Headlamp is a must.
Foot Wear: Either sneakers or boots. Comfortable fitting!!! We will have a stream crossing at the start.. FYI
There is a parking fee if you dont have a pass and I am not sure if there is or not a fee for staying at the campsite.. We can work those details out as needed when the time comes.
Just bring some good campsite fun and humor..
