Ice Climbing:  Top-Rope @ Champney Falls On Mt Chocoria ( Begginner )

Top roping at its finest for the beginner!

Champney Falls has waterfall ice routes ranging from 3-5 and M5 & M8 with a couple low angle and easy other lines if snow is minimal..

This is a dramatic chasm and a popular top roping location. Can be crowded at times but there is usually many lines that can be set up which we all can share.

Location: Drive on Kancamangus highway from Conway 10.8 miles and the parking lot will be on your left for Mt Chocoria and Champney Falls.

Hike in is about 45 min's on a packed trail. Bear left at the fork to the Chasm and the ice covered wall.

Max for this trip will need to be 11 climbers not to take up too much space.

We will need 4 ropes from climbers to have this Meetup.. I have one..

Carpooling:

I will meet anyone at Hatch Plaza at exit 26 in Plymouth NH to share a ride to the climbing.

If your coming from Boston or other you will want to post a thread on this trip to find a ride share person.

Gear:

You will need the listed Ice Climbing gear in the files section of our meetup page on line.

Rental equipment is available from many Guide services and retailers in No Conway and Loon. I will try try to post a list of them online.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
