Weekend Away in Brecon Beacons

Weekend in Brecon Beacons with hikes on Saturday And Sunday.

Saturday Hike to include Corn Du, Pen y Fan, Cribyn and Fan y Big Peaks. It will basically follow this route:

Sunday we'll head over to the Black Mountains and something like this:

Accommodation is £4 per night at Caerllwyn Cottage (Owned by Westminster Speleological Group), it has basic facilities like toilets, showers, kitchen etc.... but its basically a cottage sleeping 18 (tents are allowed if you wish). But it is shared accommodation for males and females in the hut. We'd need to cook our own food but its pretty nice :) especially for the price.

Plan would be to head down on the Friday night (car share), so that we can head off relatively early on the Saturday but this is open to suggestions.

Any questions, post below or message me. Kit would be standard stuff + food and a sleeping bag and cost would be whatever the fuel and accommodation costs (unless you want me to price up a standard cost for everyone).

Weather permitting we plan to have a BBQ on Saturday night. I will buy all the food for the weekend and sort the money out during the weekend, including BBQ, Pizza for Friday night, sandwiches (ham and cheese) for lunch and bacon and eggs for breakfast. You will only need your own snacks this in advance and alcohol for yourself. Please comment below if you have any special requirements.

Thanks everyone for a nice weekend away. I couldn't leave the country without a few good stories and some craziness in the UK. I've added some photos to the collection. If there's a photo you want deleted, just let me know. Otherwise, enjoy!

I've set up a pub meet for this (and anyone else who wants to come) but hopefully it'll be a chance to meet everyone again before we go... Be great to see you there

Sorry, can't attend this as I'm leading the WM40+ group in Oxford on a walk, evening out and punting! Have a great weekend and enjoy seeing the Red Kites. Tim
